21.12
The Earth bending much South
24.3 degrees—
To be exact,
Making it yes,
Our longest night.
The Winter Solstice,
Mystic and sweet,
The saying goes something like this:
The moment when the sun stands still…
A mark of an end,
The close of both candles burning,
A beginning for rest and recovery,
A quiet celebration of
A great returning.
The scoreboard’s in our favor:
Death turning to Rebirth.
Dark turning to Light.
I welcome you, Winter,
The birth of a New Eve—
The Eve of the Sun.
And I want to end with this
Saying about the Sun;
”Holding hands with the sun
Is holding hands with the future.”
