Lets keep the cold out
Care🍀 Like a fortress, your immune system can create a barrier so strong that no virus stands a chance of getting through. But like any great defense, it’s at its best when it has a solid team of support. Your daily habits—like staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, excercice, spending time in daylight, and nourishing your body with fresh foods. Your thoughts—focusing on how resilient you truly are—can strengthen that inner barrier even more.
Curiosity📚 But if the barricade one day gets breached, here are some tips to help support your body:
Vitamin C: Known for its immune-boosting effects, vitamin C can help reduce the duration and severity of colds. Find it in citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits.
Thyme: This herb has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties and can be used in teas or soups to soothe the throat and boost immunity.
Honey: Raw honey has antioxidants and is a natural anti-inflammatory, soothing sore throats and helping with coughs.
Elderberry: Studies show elderberries can help reduce cold and flu symptoms due to their high antioxidant content. Look for elderberry syrup or tea.
Ginger: Known for its warming properties, ginger helps ease congestion and boosts circulation. Adding fresh ginger to tea can help ward off colds.
Hydration: Staying well-hydrated supports every system in your body, particularly when you’re under the weather. Warm drinks like herbal teas or simple water with lemon can hydrate, soothe, and assist in flushing out toxins.
Creativity🤸♀️ This week, try creating a “food budget” to see how stocked up you are on essential vitamins and minerals. Check if you’re covering key nutrients like vitamin C, D, A, E, B`s, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium and so on. If you find any gaps, you might consider adding foods rich in those nutrients or exploring a multivitamin and omega-3 supplement for extra support.
Credit🤍 By prioritizing our health and staying home if we get sick, we both help and inspire those around us to do the same—making the seasonal cold just a little easier for everyone.
Side Note🙏 Always make sure that any dietary changes or supplements align with your personal health needs. We believe in making gradual changes, slowly introducing and balancing your diet so your body can adjust to each new health note.
Until next week,
